يستعد ليفربول لمواجهة أستون فيلا مساء غد السبت في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز بعد أن تكبد فريق آرني سلوت ست هزائم في آخر سبع مباريات.
وسئل بول ميرسون نجم آرسنال السابق إذا كان يرى الملك المصري محمد صلاح جيداً بما يكفي ليكون نجم الفريق في مباراة الغد بعد بدايته البطيئة هذا الموسم.
وعلى الرغم من أداء محمد صلاح المتواضع في الآونة الأخيرة، فقد تحدث بول ميرسون أن النجم المصري يجب أن يبدأ في المباراة ضد أستون فيلا.
وقال ميرسون في تصريحات لـ”sportskeeda”: “ليس لدى فيلا ما يخسره في مباراة ليفربول، حتى لو خسروا لن تكون مشكلة كبيرة، هذه الحرية ستمنحهم أفضلية، كلا الفريقين متساويان في عدد النقاط وهذا أمر مذهل بالنظر للبداية الصعبة التي مر بها فيلا هذا الموسم”.

وأضاف :”هذا يظهر مدى سرعة تغير الأمور، المشكلة الوحيدة في فيلا هو عدم تسجيلهم عدد كافي من الأهداف، لم يتلقوا سوى ثمانية أهداف في الدوري أيضاً لكنهم سجلوا تسع أهداف فقط في تسع مباريات”.
وواصل: “لقد استقبل ليفربول كثير من الأهداف في الأسابيع الأخيرة ولكن هل يستطيع أستون فيلا استغلال دفاع الريدز المهتز”.
وتابع عن محمد صلاح: “سؤال مهم آخر إذا كان سيبدأ صلاح أساسياً أم لا، إذا كنت تريد أن تمنح الفرص للاعبين في مباريات كهذه، فلا شك أن صلاح واحد منهم، أعلم أنه لم يسجل أهداف لكن لا يمكن استبعاده من هذه المباراة”.
وأكمل :”على ليفربول أن ينسى لقاء ريال مدريد الأسبوع المقبل، إذا خسروا هذه المباراة فلا يزال بإمكانهم التأهل للأدوار الإقصائية في أوروبا لكن الهزيمة ضد فيلا تنهي آمالهم في الفوز بلقب الدوري، وسيصبحون متأخرين عن آرسنال بعشر نقاط وتنتظرهم مباراة مانشستر سيتي القادمة، هذا ليس الوضع الأمثل وأنا قلق على ليفربول لأنني لا أتوقع فوزهم ضد فيلا”.
واختتم ميرسون عن توقعه لنتيجة مباراة ليفربول وأستون فيلا: “1-1”.

Well, that might not have been the perfect start to Nuno Espírito Santo’s tenure as West Ham United boss, but it wasn’t far off.
The Hammers faced the difficult task of taking on a dangerous Everton side away from home on Monday night, and while they didn’t win, they also didn’t lose.
It was that man, Jarrod Bowen, who levelled the score for the East Londoners in the second half, and they looked more likely to score a winner than the Toffees.
Several West Ham starters put in a good showing on the night, but two stood out in particular, including Crysencio Summerville.
Summerville's eye-catching performance
Monday night was Summerville’s third start on the bounce for West Ham, and while he did earn two assists in his eight-minute cameo against Nottingham Forest last month, it was his best performance of the campaign.

The former Leeds United star did make a few mistakes here and there, but was arguably as good, if not better, than Bowen, even if the Englishman managed to get on the scoresheet.
The Dutchman was a constant threat on the left, using his rapid pace, intricate close control and agility to make life nightmarishly difficult for Jake O’Brien from minute one.
On another night, the 23-year-old would have opened his account for the season when Jordan Pickford pulled off a brilliant reaction save from an incredibly close-range effort.
It wasn’t just us who were left seriously impressed with the winger, though, as Sky Sports awarded him the man of the match, and when you look at his statistics, it’s easy to see why.

In his 77 minutes of action, he amassed a combined expected goal and assist figure of 0.54, took 55 touches, completed 93% of his passes, played one key pass, completed three dribbles, won five of eight ground duels, won two fouls, made three clearances and even blocked a shot.
In all, Summerville put in a performance that should have fans very excited about what he could do this season, just like one of his teammates.
Nuno's stand-out West Ham star
Now, while Bowen certainly deserves his fair share of praise for the goal he scored, everyone is already well aware of just how good he is.
El Hadji Malick Diouf might have been something of an unknown quantity to those non-West Ham fans who were watching – well, not anymore.
The former Slavia Prague gem was an absolute monster all night, bombing up and down the pitch with his, as one analyst put it, “explosive acceleration” that makes him so difficult to defend against.
The 20-year-old didn’t get himself an assist on the night, but it felt like every time he got forward in the second half, he would deliver a sensational cross into the penalty area with such whip and venom that, had someone got on the end of it, the Hammers would have scored another goal.
Moreover, Bowen’s goal came about thanks to Everton failing to deal with one of these crosses.
What made his deliveries so impressive was the fact that, a couple of times, he didn’t even stop to look or regain his balance; he’d just burst into space, wallop the ball with an immense amount of power, and it’d land in an extremely dangerous area.
It’s things like this that justify Sky Sports’ Joe Thomlinson calling the Senegalese star an “astonishingly good footballer and athlete” and another analyst making the bold claim that he’s “one of the best fullbacks in the league.”
Ultimately, while they didn’t get the win, West Ham looked like a far better team under Nuno on Monday night, and that is largely down to Summerville and Diouf making the left-hand side so much more dangerous.

GT’s middle order stands upBefore this game, GT’s middle order (Nos. 4-7) had the lowest average (21.39) in the league but also the highest strike rate (165.65). In a way, it was a corollary of their prosperous top order. On Thursday, however, GT did not want their middle order to just flash. Niclas Fullkrug is out with a torn thigh and is expected to be out for the foreseeable future, and the Portuguese boss has now hinted that youngster Callum Marshall may be set for a start as he vies with Callum Wilson for a place in the side.
Later, he expanded on Marshall and the potential striker competition, suggesting it will give West Ham’s options extra motivation to battle it out for a starting place.
Jarrod Bowen continues to be a central threat for West Ham, and the England winger could yet be used in a makeshift striker role once again after Fullkrug’s latest problem.

According to Keith Wyness, in conversation with Football Insider, West Ham are trying to land Chelsea forward Tyrique George and ‘sources’ suggest the 19-year-old could well move to the London Stadium in January.
The teenager, while traditionally a left-winger, can play as a centre-forward when required, as he has already done for Enzo Maresca this season on three separate occasions.
George bagged a goal and an assist in Chelsea’s narrow 2-1 win over Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup after being deployed as a striker — effectively winning the clash and sparing Maresca from a major embarrassment.
Now, West Ham are believed to be in for George, and Wyness says it makes perfect sense.

Only Gareth Roderick (35 from 28 balls) resisted for long as the innings failed to recover from early damage inflicted by James Anderson and Luke Wood.Lightning reeled in the target with 15 balls to spare, reaching 146 for 3 thanks to a solid top-order effort headed by Keaton Jennings (42 off 37) and Liam Livingstone (41 not out off 22).Rapids won the toss but lost both openers in the first seven balls. Eddie Howe will hope a late 2-1 win picked up over the weekend by his Newcastle United troops spurs his side onto a positive patch of form in the Premier League.
It’s been a bumpy campaign so far for the Toon, with three wins, three draws, and three defeats collected in league action. But, with two home wins on the spin now in the challenging terrain of the top-flight, the time is surely right for the Magpies to make strides up the early league standings, away from their current middle-of-the-road 11th position.
Bruno Guimaraes would be showered with praise come the full-time whistle against Fulham, as his quick thinking to be alert to a spill from Bernd Leno saw him slot home a late rebound to seal a 2-1 win.
But, he isn’t the only star capable of such joyous moments in Howe’s talented camp, with Nick Woltemade sticking out as another noticeable bright spark, even if his new side hasn’t been picking up victories galore since he arrived from Stuttgart.
Why Woltemade is already key for Newcastle
The 6-foot-6 menace didn’t get on the scoresheet against Marco Silva’s visitors, but he was still lively in spurts against the Cottagers.
Indeed, Woltemade would smack the post with an effort that looked to be heading goalbound after just four minutes had been played, with the commanding number 27 also putting his towering frame to good use when shoving off Fulham defenders to play in the likes of Anthony Gordon and others next to him in the attacking positions.
Woltemade was at the heart of Harvey Barnes’ strike mid-week, too, with an audacious flick ending in the ex-Leicester City man confidently firing home this effort in the Champions League.
This is before you even mention that the clinical 23-year-old also has four Premier League goals next to his name already, with the decision to fork out a steep £69m on the ex-Bundesliga goal machine looking to now be a smart one, particularly as Newcastle desperately needed a potent marksman to fill the hole left behind by Alexander Isak.
However, as much as Woltemade has stood out as an influential presence so far, he isn’t the only ace in attack capable of altering games at a moment’s notice, with this other gem at Howe’s disposal also now being lauded for being a game-changing spark.
Howe has unearthed a new "game-changer"
Howe very much had the options on his substitutes bench to thank for the Fulham game being turned on its head in the final moments.
