Spurs 26 y/o Slammed After "Frustrating Game" vs Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison completely lost his head after tripping over himself and then lashing out to pick up a silly yellow card in his club's most recent game.

What's the latest on Spurs vs Bournemouth?

Having made a bright start to life in the Premier League under Ange Postecoglou – with one draw and one win in their opening two games – Spurs travelled down to the south coast this weekend.

Playing in the lunchtime kick-off, Tottenham took on Bournemouth and managed to grab a first-half lead thanks to James Maddison, who netted his first goal for his new side. Dejan Kulusevski then added another in the second half to seal the three points.

No doubt, those goalscoring moments would have helped ease the pain left by Harry Kane after the Englishman joined Bayern Munich this summer, but fans would have been hoping for more of an attacking contribution from main striker Richarlison.

Read the latest Tottenham transfer news HERE…

However, the forward completely failed to deliver on that front – as evidenced by one embarrassing moment in particular.

Footage shared on Twitter caught the incident and it really doesn't look very smart at all from the Spurs ace. Indeed, he trips over without even being challenged and then picks up a yellow card for senselessly lashing out at his opponent.

How bad was Richarlison vs Bournemouth?

To make things worse, Richarlison was subbed off just minutes later, meaning he is still yet to score a goal for Spurs so far this season in three starts. In fact, having now played 38 times for the club in all competitions, the 26-year-old only has three goals to his name.

Journalist Charlie Eccleshare summed things up well for the Tottenham man, as he wrote on Twitter: "Another frustrating game for Richarlison. He had a couple of chances but made a few bad decisions and was booked after losing the ball."

As per Sofascore, he finished the game with just 77% passing, losing the ball 12 times and having had fewer touches than goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario – showing just how ineffective he was.

Journalist Rob Guest also described the player's woes well in his player ratings for football.london as he gave the striker a 6/10 and wrote: "Led the line for Spurs once again and should have done better ten minutes before half-time after Maddison had slipped him in with a fine pass, before hitting the side netting with a header moments later.

"Impressed with his build-up play in the first half, including a flicked header to Kulusevski, but his performance after the break was frustrating as he picked up a needless yellow card and lost the ball when Spurs looked to hit Bournemouth on the break. Desperately needs a goal to come his way. 6

Perhaps it's poor finishing as seen in one moment in the first half – referenced by Guest above – that explains why he's struggled to get his name on the scoresheet with any regularity since moving to north London last summer.

Indeed, in the key moment, the striker was through on goal but chopped back onto his left foot, stumbled over the ball and was tackled just when it looked as though he may have finally sorted his feet out.

All in all, it was another bad day at the office for Richarlison; even if his side picked up an impressive victory.

Overton's silent answer to Smith's jibe

Craig Overton had the perfect answer to Steven Smith’s sledging without even uttering a word.Overton, making his Test debut, had just been told by Smith that he was surprisingly slow for a Test bowler; a comment that no seamer would want to hear. But Overton struck back with a delivery that nipped back and, according to the bowler at least, beat Smith for pace on its way to hitting the top of middle stump.”It was nice that I beat him for pace,” Overton said with a wide smile. “He was saying how slow I was. Then one went through him a little bit quicker and beat him for pace.”He is obviously one of the best players in the world, so it was pretty nice.”While Overton felt England had “bowled pretty well all day” he did admit that they had discussed the lengths they had bowled in the first session and tightened up a little in the second.”Potentially we did bowl a bit short in that first session,” he said. “It was difficult with the rain breaks and coming on and off. It was a challenge and the first session didn’t go to plan. But we spoke about in the changing rooms and knew we had to get our lengths right. We came back after lunch and bowled better.”We’re pretty happy. We bowled pretty well without quite getting the results we deserved. But they didn’t get away from us and, if we can get early wickets, we’re confident.”Overton was only told he was playing an hour or so before the game began, but his parents had travelled from Devon in the hope of seeing him play and were among a record crowd of over 55,000 at the Adelaide Oval.”My dream was always to play for England and to play for a Test team against Australia in Australia is special,” he said. “It was massive for me. You can’t really put it into words what it means.”And it was nice that my folks were here to see it. I hope I’ve made them proud.”

National T20 Cup semis and final on November 29 and 30

The semi-finals and final of the National T20 Cup have been set for November 29 and 30, with Rawalpindi playing host

Danyal Rasool in Rawalpindi27-Nov-2017

Associated Press

The semi-finals and final of the National T20 Cup have been rescheduled for November 29 and 30 after they were postponed by the PCB due to religious unrest in the country. The venue for the three games has not changed, with Rawalpindi playing host, just like it has for the rest of the tournament. The four remaining teams – Lahore Whites, who play Faisalabad, and FATA, who face Lahore Blues – are already in Islamabad, Rawalpindi’s sister city. The tournament had been set to conclude in the weekend, but an unrest that began when police tried to disperse a sit-in by a religious gathering at an interchange in Rawalpindi forced the PCB to postpone the event. With protests turning violent and escalating throughout the country, Islamabad had been in a state of effective lockdown over the weekend, with all roads leading to Karachi and Lahore closed off. Teams had found themselves confined to their hotels, and roads leading to the Rawalpindi stadium had also been blocked. Private news channels were taken off air for most of Saturday and Sunday, while access to social media sites Facebook, Twitter and YouTube was also suspended. All educational institutions in Lahore, which hosted the recent World XI series, as well as the third T20I against Sri Lanka, were closed on Monday, and will remain shut on Tuesday. But the situation has been defused for the most part, with life returning to some semblance of normality in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. That enables the postponed games in the National T20 Cup to be held earlier than what may have been expected on Monda or Tuesday. The decision to play these matches on Wednesday and Thursday, as opposed to the weekend, may be down to a religious holiday throughout Pakistan on Friday, with the PCB keen to avoid further hindrances to their premier domestic T20 tournament. The National T20 Cup faced several hindrances this year. Earlier, it had clashed with the ICC World XI’s trip. The rescheduled dates clashed with the Bangladesh Premier League and the now-postponed T20 Global League in South Africa. Even then, smog in Faisalabad and Multan forced a relocation to Rawalpindi once and for all.The scheduling of the National T20 Cup created uncertainty on other fronts as well. In August, the board revoked the No-Objection Certificates of 13 players participating in the Caribbean Premier League and the English domestic season, asking them to return home and fulfill national and domestic commitments. However, a few days later, PCB chairman Najam Sethi said the National T20 Cup had been postponed and the players could return to their franchises and counties after undergoing fitness tests. The tournament will also mark the end of Saeed Ajmal’s career, who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

Crystal Palace Eyeing Move For Germany International Julian Draxler

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Julian Draxler has been a renowned player across Europe for some time now and Crystal Palace could be set to make a move for him, with a new update dropping news on talks between the clubs.

How old is Julian Draxler?

The German has enjoyed an excellent career for club and country, even though injuries have ultimately played a part in him not quite reaching his vast potential. That being said, he has still won 58 caps for Germany, scoring seven goals at international level, not to mention winning the 2014 World Cup.

Now 29 years of age, Draxler has been plying his trade at PSG since arriving from VfL Wolfsburg in 2017, making a total of 198 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants. Last season, he was sent out on loan to Benfica, however, and he was restricted to just ten games in the Primeira Liga.

The midfielder is out of contract at his current club next summer, meaning they could be keen to cash in on him before deadline day arrives next Friday night. If not, it means they will likely lose him on a free transfer in 2024, with an extension not expected to come his way, hence his loan move in 2023/24.

With Palace eyeing up some late business in the current transfer window, a potential move for Draxler looks to be on the cards, following an intriguing update.

Will Crystal Palace sign Julian Draxler?

Taking to Twitter, RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins claimed that Draxler is a summer target for Palace, as they eye up an audacious piece of business:

"Crystal Palace is interested in Julian Draxler. First contacts have taken place between Paris and the English club. The German, who has one year left on his contract, is enthusiastic about the idea of going to London."

Granted, Draxler's career has gone the way he would have hoped, in terms of the injury layoffs and not becoming a genuine world-beater, but he could still be a really exciting signing by Palace this summer.

His talent is undeniable, having registered 41 assists and scored 26 goals for PSG, not to mention being called "world-class" by Jens Keller, and he could raise the level of everyone around him at Selhurst Park.

Draxler's contract situation means that Palace could also be able to snap him up for a cut-price amount, with PSG not in a particularly strong bargaining position, so it wouldn't necessarily be a financial risk, even given his injury record.

The fact that the player himself is keen on a move to the Eagles certainly bodes well, as he looks for a fresh challenge away from being a fringe player at PSG, and he could add that sprinkling of magic in attacking midfield, possessing the ability to open up defences and also chip in with goals of his own.

Draxler has scored 66 goals and got 80 assists in his professional career to date – that figure would be higher if he had been available more often – and that level of end product could make Palace a greater attacker force, at a time when goals can come at a premium.

West Ham Interested In "Outstanding" 21 y/o Whiz

West Ham United fans would’ve thought that losing the talismanic Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105m would be the most damaging outgoing for the club this summer.

However, a new – almost equally devastating – storyline has since emerged, with Manchester City keenly pursuing a deal for attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Brazilian is keen to join the reigning Premier League and European Champions, who had an initial verbal approach of £70m rejected. A fresh offer is expected, with the Italian journalist indicating that players could be included in the deal.

This has led to suggestions that Cole Palmer could be on his way to the London Stadium.

What’s the latest on Cole Palmer to West Ham?

According to the ever-reliable ExWHUEmployee, the 21-year-old is attracting serious interest from the Hammers.

The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg has echoed this view, stating that West Ham are eyeing a loan deal for the youngster.

Pep Guardiola has communicated his impression of the situation, saying:

“We have lot of confidence in Cole. I know he wanted to play last season, and didn't much. The agent, himself, we have to talk.

“If he wants to stay, we're more than pleased. If he wants to leave, we'll find a solution because he's a top player.”

Would Cole Palmer be a good signing for West Ham?

The 6-foot academy gem has been at Manchester City since 2010, rising through various academy sides.

In 61 appearances for the U18 and U21 teams, he has recorded 61 goal involvements – a frightening level of productivity to emphatically demonstrate that he is more than ready for regular senior football.

As a result, he has become partially integrated into the first team, making 39 appearances in the last 3 years, including five goals.

Internationally, the playmaker has also performed admirably – at England’s U21 European Championship winning campaign, Palmer played five matches, scored once, registered three assists, and completed 88% of his passes and 56% of his dribbles, as per Sofascore.

Nevertheless, last season he only notched seven starts in all competitions and a loan at a fellow top-flight side could be the perfect platform to further ignite his limitless potential.

Moreover, his hypnotic dribbling and magical technique could make him the new jewel of West Ham’s crown as he ranks within the best 1% in Europe’s top five leagues among his positional peers for progressive carries, successful take-ons and touches in the attacking penalty area per 90.

The joyous technician, who netted in the Community Shield final against Arsenal, possesses the profile and skill to soften the blow of Paqueta’s possible exit.

The former Lyon maestro has only been at West Ham for one year but has quickly established himself as one of the club’s most talented and influential assets.

Lucas Paqueta

Described as “simply sensational” by CBS Sports' James Benge, the South American ranks within the top 6% in Europe’s top five leagues among his positional peers for progressive passes per 90, and his repertoire of flair and exuberance means he looks destined to compete at the highest level.

Nevertheless, Palmer is also a ridiculous talent, and with a year of consistent game-time, could further flourish into one of the division’s most sought-after forces.

Also hailed as “outstanding” by Paul Dickov, the 21-year-old starlet to West Ham would be an extremely smart piece of business for all parties, given the evidence above.

Tottenham: Club Want Colossal Star To Join Spurs

Journalist Fabrice Hawkins has shared a rather interesting update on Tottenham Hotspur and their pursuit of a star centre-back, involving Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo.

Who will Spurs sign?

Ange Postecoglou has been backed with a fair few key signings this summer transfer window, with Spurs signing goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, young centre-back Ashley Phillips, defender Micky van de Ven, playmaker James Maddison, winger Manor Solomon and striker Alejo Veliz.

The departure of star striker Harry Kane has also handed the club funds to spend on further new additions, and while the club need to offload players first, there is reason to believe Spurs could make more moves before deadline day.

Postecoglou has publicly admitted that his side can strengthen further in certain areas, as relayed by reliable journalist Alasdair Gold, who also believes Spurs have a few tricks up their sleeve from now till the window's closure.

“Postecoglou said that himself in his press conference on Friday he pretty much said how there’s areas in defence, midfield and attack that they can upgrade on as well," said Gold on his YouTube channel (via TBR).

“I would keep an eye on what happens. I kind of get the feeling that Spurs have got a number of deals lined up ready to go if they can get the players out of the squad first.”

ange-postecoglou-2

The north Londoners have been linked with a new centre-back and forward options to succeed Harry Kane recently, and Postecoglou is believed to want a "big-name" midfielder if Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg departs (Football Insider).

Defence, though, is perhaps the biggest area they need to reinforce – as last year they conceded a pretty woeful 63 league goals, which is more than any other side above 15th in the table.

Adarabioyo, who has been mentioned as a target this window, is being chased by Ligue 1 side AS Monaco as well as Spurs with reporter Hawkins sharing an interesting update on their pursuit.

The former Man City starlet is apparently being pushed towards Tottenham by his club, who also have a plan up their sleeves to try and sign Eric Dier in an exchange.

"Tosin Adarabioyo wants to sign for Monaco," said Hawkins.

"The central defender has an agreement with ASM Fulham and his coach Marco Silva prefer to sell him to Tottenham and recover Eric Dier."

Dier, who has just one year left on his current Tottenham deal, has been linked with a move away before September 1 with Fulham seemingly looking to take full advantage.

How good is Tosin Adarabioyo?

Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo

The 25-year-old featured among Fulham's best-performing players per 90 last season, according to WhoScored, all the while averaging their second-highest rate of aerial duels won per match and most clearances per 90.

Adarabioyo has also been called "magnificent" by members of the media, with the colossal 6 foot 5 defender also earning praise for his ball-playing ability.

"And with Tosin, we know what we expect from him," said Silva to the media (via The Boot Room).

“Of course, quality on the ball in the first build-up, to find the players between the lines. Tosin had a good game and did what we expected.”

Man United Want £26m Pavard Alternative At Old Trafford

Manchester United will kick off their Premier League campaign against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday, however, there is a new update on the club's pursuit of a potential transfer target.

What's the latest on Man United transfer news?

According to Daily Mail journalist Simon Jones, Manchester United have been keeping tabs on OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

Writing for the publication, Jones revealed that the Red Devils' scouts were sent over to France to watch the centre-back in action against Lille on Saturday evening, as the club continue their search for new additions that can improve the defensive presence at Old Trafford.

It is clear that Erik ten Hag is keen to add another defender to his squad before the transfer window closes on September 1st, with Benjamin Pavard also named as a top target for the club by Italian journalist and transfer insider Fabrizio Romano revealed on Saturday afternoon:

Is Todibo better than Pavard?

If Bayern Munich are not willing to part ways with their Frenchman this summer it could present the perfect opportunity to snap up the services of his compatriot Todibo instead, who could, in fact, be a better fit for the Red Devils.

When comparing the Nice talent's output with Pavard's last season, Todibo came close to his positional competitor in a number of key attributes including pass completion (88.5% v 88.3% in favour of Todibo), percentage of dribblers tackled (73.2% v 75%) and aerial duels won (57.4% v 66%), as well as comfortably outperforming him in successful take-ons (71.4% v 0%), as per FBref.

Journalist Josh Bunting helped provide an insight as to why Todibo could be a better option for Man United, claiming that the 23-year-old is more prolific in progressing the ball:

"The way Ten Hag plays I think Jean-Clair Todibo or Edmond Tapsoba would be the better fit just in how they progress with the ball. I rate Pavard but I think he can be too open and that allows teams to drop the ball over the top and get in behind."

jean-clair-todibo-premier-league-transfers-man-united

Indeed, Todibo is undoubtedly one of the hottest defensive prospects in Ligue 1 – ranking in the top 15% of his positional peers for passes completed, progressive passing distance, tackles won, dribblers tackled, touches and successful take-ons, demonstrating his diverse skillset which could be a major asset to Ten Hag.

Former Nice team-mate Aaron Ramsey is another to have sang his praises, predicting big things for the Frenchman – who has a reported price tag of €30m (£26m) – last season, waxing lyrical about Todibo's qualities:

"Jean-Clair is a very interesting character; he’s very confident and he’s a great guy around the dressing room and he’s a very, very talented player, who can go all the way to the top."

With that being said, the signing of Todibo could be a great piece of business for Man United and could provide Ten Hag with a player who can be a huge influence in the back line for the season ahead and beyond.

Latest Donny van De Beek Transfer Update At Man United

Manchester United midfielder Donny van De Beek could still be on his way out the door, amid ongoing talks over a move to a Champions League club.

Who did Man United sign in the summer?

Man United strengthened the spine of their team in the summer transfer window, with goalkeeper Andre Onana arriving from Inter Milan, while Jonny Evans and Sergio Reguilon were brought in to bolster Erik ten Hag's defensive options.

Rasmus Hojlund was the Red Devils' marquee signing in attack, and there is good news heading into today's match away against Arsenal, with Ten Hag revealing the striker is fit to play, as the £72m star has recovered from a back injury which delayed his debut.

In central midfield, Mason Mount was the main addition, with the former Chelsea man joining in a £55m deal, and Ten Hag will have been pleased to get a deal for Sofyan Amrabat over the line on deadline day, with the Fiorentina midfielder joining on a season-long loan.

Speaking after Amrabat's arrival, Football Director John Murtough said:

“We have tracked Sofyan for a long time, so we are really pleased to bring him to Manchester United. His committed, high-energy approach to the game fits perfectly with the group that we are building here.

“We know that Sofyan’s mentality, dynamism and technical qualities will help the squad as we look to achieve success in all competitions this season.”

With the Morocco international completing a move to Old Trafford, Van de Beek may fall even further down the pecking order, having failed to make a single appearance for United in any competition so far this season.

As such, according to The Daily Mail, the Red Devils remain in talks with Galatasaray over the midfielder, who is deemed surplus to requirements by Ten Hag.

Despite having a £1m loan offer rejected on deadline day, the Turkish club remain keen on the Dutchman, and they are believed to be the front-runners for his signature, although there has been interest from elsewhere.

French side FC Lorient are also keen, as are the 26-year-old's former club, Ajax, but Galatasaray are out in front, as their transfer window does not close for another two weeks.

Is Donny van De Beek leaving Man United?

Given that the 19-time Netherlands international has fallen so far down the pecking order at Man United, it would not be surprising if he is keen to leave, and a move to Galatasaray could allow him to keep playing at a high level.

The Turkish side are in the Champions League group stages, so a move may well appeal to the former Ajax man, and it could be one of the few options he has on the table, considering the transfer window has now closed for much of Europe.

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek.

It is a real shame the central midfielder's move to Man United has not worked out, as he is clearly a top player on his day, having been lauded as "sensational" by journalist Antonio Mango just 18 months ago. However, a move away appears to be the best solution for all parties at this stage, and Van de Beek should try and reignite his career with Galatasaray.
